+ Which courses do you offer?
We currently offer Certificate III in Aged Care Work, Certificate IV in Aged Care Work and Certificate III in Pathology (formerly pathology specimen collection) as well as some short course training
+ Do you offer other courses?
We do have short courses of accredited and non-accredited training. The best thing is to call one of our Training Coordinators and discuss with them; there is no obligation at all.
+ Do I get a Certificate?
If you are doing a certificate course then yes. Otherwise if it is either a short course or an element of a longer course you will receive a Certificate of Attendance or Statement of Attainment
+ Which is the best course for me to do?
That will depend on what you want to achieve from the training. If you are new to the industry then a Certificate III course is a good place to start and Aged Care and Pathology both require the Certificate III before you can progress to Certificate IV levels
+ How can I know if the work will suit you?
Speak with our trainers, they have experience in the industry they are training. They can give you some useful insights into the industry and you can also arrange for a pre-course evaluation
+ Which Pathology courses are offered?
There are a number of Pathology courses. The main one is Certificate III in Pathology. We also deliver other short courses such as the Pathology Intensive which will see you granted a Statement of Attainment. If you speak with one of our Training Coordinators they can explain the difference to you and work out which one will be best for your needs
+ Who is MHS Training?
MHS Training is a privately owned and operated Registered Training Organisation. We have been incorporated since 2003 and accredited by the Vocational Education & Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) to deliver Nationally Recognised training
+ Where do you hold your training?
We have training facilities in Melbourne, Wyong and Gold Coast. We also have flexible delivery options so sometimes we use our client space for training and this minimises the time off work.
+ What qualification do I get?
This depends on which course you do. If you successfully a Certificate course you would receive a full certificate at the level of your study e.g. Certificate IV in Aged Care Work.
If your training is non-standard or perhaps partial you would receive a Statement of Attainment. This is not a qualification but it does acknowledge you have participated in training and been assessed as Competent on the material covered.
+ What is RPL?
RPL stands for Recognition of Prior Learning.
It means you can get credit for previous training and experience if it is relevant to the training you want to do with MHS
+ Is my qualification be Nationally Accredited?
If the training is Accredited then your Qualification will be Nationally Recognised.
+ What are my employment opportunities?
The Pathology and Aged Care industries inform us there are often shortages for trained staff.
We do have a very good record assisting people to find work, we just can,t guarantee it. We have a good relationship with an employment agency and they have also been able to help graduates find employment.
+ How do I get a job when I am finished training and have my qualifications?
You are responsible to find your own employment when you finish your training. There are opportunities along the way such as when you do your practical placement depending on the skills and attitude they might be looking for at that time.
Our students have a high placement rate once qualified. We also have a very close relationship with an employment agency and they can also assist students who have qualified.
+ Is there a payment plan option?
Yes we do allow students to arrange to pay their course fees off. We are aware it is a sometimes a burden to pay for training upfront. We do offer discounts if you pay upfront and we must also insist that training fees are fully paid by the end of the course.
Practical placements will not be available if fees are not paid before the end of training and we do not issue qualifications until payments are finalised.
